May 24, 2008, Queen Elizabeth Drive near Landsdowne Park. The buds of white oak diverge from the twig, whereas those of bur oak hug it. One bud is visible to the left, between the lobes of the leaf.

Notes

I would like confirmation that this is white oak. A constant feature is said to be the small terminal lobe, which was present on all leaves I looked at.
