GLEBE TREES AND SHRUBS

Alpine currant (Ribes alpinum)

This photo was taken May 15, 2008 on Wilton Crescent overlooking Brown's inlet. It appears to be alpine currant, formerly a common hedge plant. It has erect clusters of small flowers. The pedicel of each flower is crooked and there are no thorns, making it a currant rather than a gooseberry.
